Sales Partnerships’ Philadelphia Office Runs Food Bank for a Day

Westminster, Colo – January 20, 2015 – Sales Partnerships congratulates our Philadelphia team for its efforts to help feed local people in need. The local office of Sales Partnerships volunteered to pack and distribute food on January 2nd as part of Sales Partnerships’ initiative to give back to the community.

“It was very rewarding. It was fun for the team and a way for all of us to give back to a community that gives us so much,” said Joe Caivano, Director of Sales Partnerships’ Philadelphia branch.

Caivano reached out to Philabundance, a well-known organization which has distributed food to the needy for 30 years. “It’s an amazing organization. They save around $2 million a year in staffing by relying on volunteers. So we thought it would be a great way to help, “ said Caivano. “Philabundance’s warehouse labor is made up of all volunteers, so we actually helped feed someone that day. “

Philabundance serves 75,000 people in need each week and is a crucial hub, supplying food banks and relief organizations throughout the Delaware Valley. Fourteen Sales Partnerships employees participated in the event, in which the Sales Partnerships-Philly team boxed over 10,000 pounds of food. Caivano and his team were the entire workforce for a day.

“Sales Partnerships believes that it is our responsibility to be connected to our communities, “ said Fred Kessler, CEO of SPI. “We thrive because of them – we have an obligation as good corporate citizens to help those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Sales Partnerships employees 25 people in the Philadelphia metro area, one of the company’s largest markets.
The company encourages employees to contribute time to charities and causes that they feel passionate about. We empower regional offices to take the lead in organizing these volunteer events because they know the organizations that deserve support in their town.

“From a pure business perspective – we’re a sales company – our reps need to understand their communities and not just the parts that are well off. Volunteering helps build teamwork while teaching our team more about their territories, “ Kessler said.

If you’d like to volunteer or donate food, check out Philabundance’s website, Philabundance.org or call 800-319-FOOD for more information.
